Hi my name is Sandy Metcalf

And this is a little more on me and my life and loves

As you can tell if you have browsed my site Real Estate is just one of my passions

I am the daughter of a man with a plumbing, architectural and construction background and was in his office since a kid (as well as was in the dog world running kennels and grooming shops). My dad taught me early on, his standard of what the customer meant and the importance is doing business right. And I acquired a good savvy can do attitude from him as well. And that was really when I got interested in how homes were made and real estate in general.

I always enjoyed seeing my dad's projects go from, blueprint, to chalk string to picking bathroom fixtures, paint and carpets. I loved seeing it come together, and to help him screen tenants and perspective buyers.

I loved working there I used to schedule work, take client payments hand out employee checks get signatures for checks. Make face to face sales for the customers that came to the warehouse/office to buy direct from my dad as he also would outright sell the products and let the customer install it themselves. Especially, to big customers that he would pass on his wholesale prices if they picked up. It was good PR and brought us future business.

In the warehouse I helped order, sort store and document inventory. I have also helped install many heating and plumbing fixtures in our family owned rentals and investment properties growing up right on up into my marriage.

After I married I used what I learned from my dad on reading people's needs, in marketing tools, materials, structure, space and design as we purchased, revamped and sold/leased and managed our own properties.

We were purchasing property when the MLS was a book and printouts were on old Daisy Wheels that I poured through reams of paper to find the homes we wanted to preview. We were using creative financing before anyone knew what that was, in both our sales and purchasing transactions. And in the way we leased and found tenets as well.

I had thought about being a buyer’s agent back when there were none, and I saw the need. But I liked the freedom of just being a self managed investor back then.

We brought back info sheets from TX when my then husband was sent there on a temp duty for the Air Guard and we saw our first talking home, and those sheets.

We had a computer since the 1987 and we printed up our sheets glued on photos- stuck the sheets inside report folders to stay dry and put them on our for sale and for rent signs I designed and did the artwork for and my then husband made (I liked to make signs that reflected the period of the home) in Klamath Falls where we lived.

We told people we brought information sheets to Oregon. We know we did to K Falls. And we were tracking our sales/rentals and the market long before the Realtors, staging (amazing what a plate of homemade cookies, and a few pots of flowers outside will do) and videoing our homes for tour, back then. It greatly enhanced our sales and on the rental side, the quality of our tenants.

I still teach people where to spend money and where not for the biggest return of their dollars and how that adding things like closet organizers and new hardware, relatively inexpensive small changes in the home can return their cost many times over. And things like new bathrooms, kitchens and updating wiring can bring large returns and speed up their sales. And for investment properties garner higher rents and a better class of renter.

And the importance of staging.

I thought about being an agent again when my 21 yr marriage ended in 2001 and I moved from Salem here, but instead got involved with Customer Service Management, as with my Labrador show kennel and Rescue I had been doing that all my married life as well.

With my ability to draft ads, and my aptitude for the written word. Anything I market is always in high demand.

With my gift for the spoken word and my capacity to connect with people. I have always been able to create solid relationships.

With my talent as a commissioned artist with work sent as far away as Australia, I bring a colorful flare and perceptive to anything I undertake and a unique asset to the professional world.

By my being a writer as well as an artist is a big plus in the leasing, marketing and remodel of homes. I always chose all our renters and as I already referred to, we self managed. Rarely was a renter a problem because of my screening process and ability to read people. We had no shortage of applicants for our rental properties either and were a member of the Klamath Housing Association. And in our for sales we were able to design many ways for our clients to purchase, and with my ability to draft ads our properties were always in high demand.

My passions over both the written word and creating beautiful things rounds me and balances well in business and in my life.

My reputation for honesty, ethics and dependability where I lend my name, proceeds me.

Plus- I love everything to do with construction, real estate, building, leasing, sales, marketing and home improvement.  So did really well when we were into that. I do good at anything I am into.

I am also doing a book on investing and doing it right I will do one on home improvement on a shoe string and with creative ideas as when we started that was how we did it. I can do wonders with 100.00 and magic with 1000,00. And I was doing things and videoing them for reference long before there were shows. Do not get me started on the architectural side of homes and my love of the different designs I will write you a book on window casings and antique hardware alone hehehe!
