I am probably going to add 2 or 3 more pages this time starting with Pacific City
Oh gosh I just looked at the pix and there are so many :) I cannot post them all here hehehe! So will just share some and email some as well.
We arrived at Pacific City on the the 7th and it was overcast, but we had warm and sunshine for most the week we were there.
We stayed in a really nice beach home and they do not have traditional lawns and seem to want the grass to grow wild and look unkempt
In fact they want you to stay off the wild and woolly stuff!
There are walking paths all over the place flanked by it
The house we stayed in was nearly a 1600 sq' 2/2/1/2 and as I said NICE! Inside pix click here
A cute little beach community
The decking leading to the beach behind the sub division
And the view at the top looking back to the houses from the deck that leads to the beach
Jack in front of Haystack Rock
Haystack Rock
The beach all the way to the dunes
People playing with their dogs (especially Labs) made me miss Sadie everywhere we went
And I always seem to find Labs no matter where we go
Close up on my Lab fix from Pacific City
Pacific City was a small little beach town with a few shops and tourist places that has been around since the 1800's
See some of the old pix

Just
about every day we went somewhere. Heading out of Pacific City
First we went to Newport and then back to Astoria where we had went in July, but saw some new sights.
In Newport we went to two of the Light Houses that are among the 9 in the Pacific Northwest.
But first we saw beautiful sights and took pix on the drive up. The views were to die for.
Jack checking out the history of the view below
And me
First place we went to was the Yaquina Head Light House
http://www.yaquinalights.org/
We went to the visitors center and saw lots of old pictures
We saw how the light works
And other cute excibits and information
But nothing beats the real thing
The historian
A long way up
The tower watchman
Jack's pictures from the tower as I did not want to go up there alone and they only allowed one person up there at a time
And back down the stairs from the top
Me going down
Jack going down- smile silly!
And outside the Lighthouse
More up the coast pix
We then headed up to The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse,
http://www.yaquinalights.org/home.cfm?dir_cat=87899
it was rumored to be haunted it was not.
But it was a VERY different experience compared to the one on the Head
The bridge outside the park that goes to Austoria
This Lighthouse was also breathtaking
Inside the woodwork and antiques were beautiful!
Stirway to the top
Kitchen
Jack looking at the old light that they replaced with a new modern one
The light
The history throughout this house was awsome!
Bedrooms
One for me
Jack looking up into the tower where you cannot go
The top
Outside the window on the highest level you can go
Back downstairs to the front door
Outside
From the back
This place was more like a turn of the century home than a lighthouse, and you could not get close enough to the cliff to take a good pix of the sea.
Thanks for sharing this part of our journey but gonna move to page 4 for more of our trip to cut down on load time :)
