I decided that I am getting too many pix to email so will just put up a pix page for the people I love.
Here are the latest more to come but you all knew that :)
New pictures will always be on top of page And there are a lot! Next pix I will make a second page here
First our painting pix- I know I said I would not post those type here, just email you them but I got lazy shoot me :)
We finished up the room Friday only the molding to go yet
So here are a few pix
We did sponge painting in the vacuum closet Kay wanted to use all the colors of the main room she had chosen in a foe granite look- we started with yellow and brown over that she followed with lighter of browns and pink tinted shades using what I taught her on how to sponge paint.
Started out rough
But turned out pretty good
Much softer
Here are few of us as the day wore on and we painted over the white primer as well as ourselves oh wait that was only me :)
Kay took my pix before I got really covered in paint this time
You can see the shade of paint that was used behind Jack, where it met the unpainted primer
Rod painting
Jack putting the second coat on Kay's darker accent wall
The entry way is my favorite shade looks like a dusty rose
Tired me
OK here is our trip to MT Hood we got a bit side tracked Saturday and ended up at a place we did not know was even here called Vista House I looked it up and for more check it out http://vistahouse.com/
but here are some pix from there
Walking up to this place that is made of stone it reminds me of something from the Middle East- you can read about it's construction on it's web page.
Jack in front of the sign I could not get to show up in a pix becasue of the glare on the rock but did get a pix of similar info inside
the massive ceiling
As beautiful as it was inside the outside view is what takes your breath away and cannot be captured or done justice to in these small pix
After getting back on track we made it to where we stayed by late afternoon
Here are a few pix outside the place we took on our walk Sat evening
We stopped for breakfast at a cute little place with a country flare that had it's walls decorated in various motifs.
I took a pix of the big clock on the wall, but decided against pix of the animal heads and pelts- Good food and friendly people.
We then made our way up to the Mountain and it was a lovely sunny day could not ask for better.
Timberline built in 1936-37
see more at http://www.timberlinelodge.com/
I took the pix going into Timberline Lodge and inside why so many were unusable :(
All of Jack's outside pix came out great!
From on top of Timberline
The door into the lodge off the top balcony that was cool so Jack took a pix of it
Outside lodge the asphalt walking trail all the people go up like little sheep
You can see the top of the mountain and that there is still snow there
A loooonnnnnnng way up!
I was one of the sheep for part of the way but when I had had enough of that steep climb I took a side path to the left back down to the back of the lodge
Where Jack took my pix
Then
I lead Jack off to the right past the roped off area into no mans land like
some kinda crazy rebel. I told Jack let the Tourist Police arrest me :)
Pix taken from our forbidden path where we found locals and a sign eventually that said walking and horse back riding only.
Jack likes pix of flowers- there were no flowers on that asphalt walking path, but he found some where we walked
As well as views that could not be beat
Heading back down the mountain looks like Shasta in the distance
And all the little squirrels we met along the way
After we went to the lodge we came down the mountain and stopped at MT Hood Museum.
Luis and Clark spot MT Hood
Scale model of the mountain
And
something I thought was interesting they used city buses for their ski lift at
Timberline from 1951-53
It was a quaint little place not a lot there but had some unsual excibits (will skip dead animals) and unknown info.
All in all it was a great day and we had a wonderful time this weekend and I would absolutely recommend going if you can :)
Thanks for sharing our trip
This is the bed and breakfast we went to last week, more pix for those I emailed
Here is the web page Rutherglen with the history and more about it
The place was huge and there are so many beautiful rooms and woodwork inside this is just a sample but the outside first
Jack
The View
The "friendly playful" ghost would not let me take many of the pix I wanted to, but inside has three levels and the wood was to die for.
Here are some inside I was, allowed to take.
The beautiful wooden stairway
There were fireplaces in every room in the house including the 7 bedrooms which also each had a full bath
The second floor where the bedrooms are
One of the baths you can see the beautiful old tile
Darryl Jack's cousin
Inside one of the bedrooms
Me on the second floor landing leading up to what is now the wedding chapel but was the ballroom
The walls in the chapel have animals hand carved on them
Close up on one for me there :)
Hope your enjoyed the tour
